We had breakfast at the Marriott.  Then we had speed meetings with the suppliers (I met with 22 suppliers!).  On this trip, I made some good connections with hotels that are our preferred partners.  Our valued clients will benefit from these partnerships with possible upgrades and amenities.

Lunch was sponsored by Four Seasons Hualalai.  The food was VERY good.  The best by far at this point in our trip.  They us a lot of local food including local meats.  And most of it is organic.  The service is really good.  People were friendly and you could definitely feel the high level of service at this resort.  Top notch.

Four Seasons Hualalai

We did a quick tour, so we did not get to see a lot.  The resort only has 2-story bungalows.  We did see one of the larger suites.  It has a bedroom with King bed, a full bathroom with double vanity, stand up shower and separate jacuzzi tub.  The bathrooms are done very nicely with tile and beautiful fixtures.  The living room has a 1/2 bath and is a nice size.  It connects to a 2nd bedroom with two double beds, an identical beautiful full bathroom.  All three rooms have a balcony if they are on the 2nd floor and a patio if on the first floor.  The first floor rooms have an added bonus of a beautiful outdoor shower.  It is right off the indoor shower and is walled is volcano rock. It has a slate stone floor with stones. They also have plants.  It is completely private with a thatched roof.  The shower is like a garden with a shower head. It is absolutely beautiful. They have 7 pools including a lap pool, a quiet pool, an adult pool, a family pool, a salt water snorkeling pool, and a few others.  The Kings Pool is the salt water lagoon.  It has over 3,000 different varieties of fish and an eagle ray.

This pool is a nice option if you don't want to venture to the ocean to snorkel. It is calm and contained.  The pool has lounge chairs and a thatched roof.  They have a nice beach in a cove.  You can snorkel off the beach, but they do not encourage surfing because of the lava rocks.  They have a full service spa, a workout room, a weight room, and a cardio room.

The classes are extra, but you can use the other rooms and the lap pool without charge.  They have yoga outside on a plank floor, inside the workout room, or in another area near the beach.

After the tour, we headed to the airport for our post FAM trip.  I'm heading to Maui for 3 nights.  Believe it or not, I'm connecting through Honolulu to get to Maui.  They have direct flights to Maui from Hawaii island, but they are only in the morning.  Because of our schedule, we could not take the 20 min flight.  We are flying 40 min to Honolulu and then 20 min to Maui.  The airport Kona airport on Hawaii island is small and open air.  It was fairly easy to get through.  They have a couple of shops and one of them has reasonable prices.  The restaurant has food, drink, and a small bar. Like many Caribbean islands you walk on the tarmac to get to your plane.  They did have a ramp rather than steps.  We had a short layover in Honolulu, so we basically got off the plane and right back on the connecting flight 2 gates down.  Both flights were smooth and on Hawaiian Airlines.  Our bags were ready quickly and we got on our bus to Ka'anapali North Beach.  We are staying one night at Honua Kai Resort. It took 35 min to get there from the OGG airport.

The Honua Kai is very nice.  The One Bedroom Suites they put us in are gorgeous.  I am on the 6th floor.  The suites are very large.  They have a full kitchen with dishes and utensils.  It has a full size refrigerator & freezer, microwave, full size stove & oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, and washer/dryerIt has a dinning area with table for 4 people.  They give you complementary wash cloths, laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, and dryer sheets.  The main living area has a couch/pullout bed, two chairs and a flat screen TV.  There is also a small living room with coach and flat screen TV.

The bedroom has a king bed, chair, and flat screen TV.  The bathroom has a glass encased stand up shower, separate tub, double vanity, and toilet.

There is access to the bathroom from the bedroom and living room.

Instead of getting together for dinner (everyone was tired) they gave us $25 resort credit to buy something at the market off the main lobby.  This market has a lot of gourmet things at reasonable prices.  They have snacks, beer, wine, soda. They also have salads, soup, sandwiches (hot & cold), and a coffee bar with great deserts.

We have a full schedule while in Maui moving to a different resort each night.  But the group will be smaller and hopefully have some time to have fun.  We are actually going to be experiencing different excursions and parts of the island. Stay tuned for more.  It should be exciting.
